Alabama Boston Terrier Rescue

Alabama Boston Terrier Rescue Group ("ABTR") is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to the welfare of the Boston Terrier dog breed. We serve the Southeast, including Alabama, Georgia, Florida Panhandle and Mississippi. ABTR takes any Boston Terrier regardless of age, temperament, and/or medical condition, and places the dog in an approved foster home. Here they are assessed for personality and behavioral traits and then are carefully matched to a home that will provide the best care. All Boston Terrier and Boston Terrier mixes are spayed/neutered before placement, (unless age or health issues prevent this at the time of adoption) vaccinated, and all known medical conditions are addressed and treated as appropriate. A lengthy screening and education process is done before an application is approved. An adoption contract is completed, and post-placement follow-up is done. An adoption fee is charged to help with veterinary expenses incurred by ABTR.  But we can't do it alone. Donations from kind people like you sustain us with the financial support necessary to care for these wonderful dogs who have lost their homes, been abused, or neglected.

Alabama Boston Terrier Rescue started with two individuals rescuing Bostons, then meeting and coordinating efforts. In 2002, ABTR was officially formed and became a non profit 501(c)(3)  organization.  Since then, ABTR  has expanded and now has members and foster homes not only in Alabama but also Georgia, Florida, Mississippi, Tennessee and Louisiana. But even with the growth, there is still a tremendous need for more foster homes and of course money.  Since 2002, ABTR has rescued and found homes for over 1000 dogs. It is through donations of time and money that this can be done. ABTR can not do this alone.  It takes all Rescues working together to provide the best for the bostons in need. FOR THE LOVE OF BOSTON'S AUCTION is a wonderful example of rescues working together.
